Housing V Homeless

As nationwide planning approvals for new housing developments fall, this will undoubtedly have implications for the provision of affordable homes. In turn, there could also be further implications, arising from predicted increases in homeless figures.

  1. Now made worse by the increase in age of single claimants (for 25 to 35) renting - these people are no longer entitled to a flat of their own but now have to use shared accomodation.
    Thanet council are Anti-HMO's & lodgers so where does this leave these people?
    homeless of course along with all the 18-25's who cannot afford to get on the property ladder.
    Thanet & Councils in general need to promote building & regeneration for all - small & med businesses, house builders etc. This is the only road to recovery.
